Wow! I just played tourist at the most exceptional equestrian competition facility I have yet to visit.
Tryon Internation Equestrian Center in North Carolina.
Occasionally big money, vision, and equestian competition experiance comes together.
And, for those of us competing, the state of North Carolina and the average tourist this is an example of a win win situation. It is impossible to imagine the planning
put into Tryon
of the stabling near the rings, the avenues for horse to move around the grounds on good footing, then different avenues for crowds to move. There are charming cabins to rent, gorgious shopping, comfortable viewing stands, fun restaurants and 7 outdoor rings and one large indoor arena. This is all set in beautiful architecture with abundant flowers and beautiful stonework at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The merrygo round and sand pit for children are just a few of the entertainment features for the family.
http:// www.horseflynet.com hopes to be a sponsor or at least have a presense in this world class operation.
Nothing but pictures will do the grounds of Tryon justice.
